No-Face is a spirit character from Japanese animated film Spirited Away, directed by Hayao Miyazaki at Ghibli Studio. This No-Face is knitted from bottom to top and later pick up stitches from the provisional cast on edge to close it up. Arms are made with i cord and sew onto the body. I suggest using needle felting to make the face as No-Face, ironically, has many details on his face and needle felting can create more delicate look. This is a quick and easy knit with no seaming and can be finished within a few hours for an advanced knitter. If you are a beginning knitter, you might want to practice techniques listed below before starting.

Gauge & Size
There’s no gauge for this design, you can choose any black yarn you prefer but use a needle that’s one to two sizes smaller than recommended to achieve tighter gauge. I used around 20g of Alpaca 3 from Isager (125m/50g, Bulky), recommended needle size is 6mm but I used a 4mm needle. The finished size is around 12cm tall and 9cm wide.

You may stuff the body from here. Remember not to overstuff. After stuffing the shape of body will look like a banana cut in half horizontally.
Go back to provisional cast on edge, with right side facing you, pick up 35sts. Place marker to mark beginning of round.

Face

Make face with your preferred method. For the best proportion, I suggest to finish the face section before sewing arms to body.

If you are using needle felting, here is a tip: make the face on a felting pad instead of directly on the body. When the face piece is completed, move it onto the body and adjust shape and size with felting needle lightly. This is to prevent the shape of body losing its curve with too much stabbing.

Arms

Cast on 3 sts tightly and knit 10 rows of i cord stitches. Cut yarn, leave a long tail, thread 3 sts from the needle and pull tight. Make the other arm the same way.
Use a tapestry needle and sew arms onto the body with black thread.
